When you are abroad without a valid residence permit
Information course
Our exam-oriented course in preparation for the basic integration exam abroad (A1):
• lasts 3 weeks and consists of weekly 2 hours of intensive lessons
• consists of a total of 6 hours of private lessons and is given via Skype
• is entirely online and exclusively focused on the exam
• is given in English, English teaching materials are also available
• consists of private lessons where and when it suits you, including in the evenings
• taught live by a teacher via Skype
• includes teaching materials/weekly homework per exam component
• will be concluded with an exam training
• offers a pass rate of 95% with an exam guarantee*
During the course we focus on the 3 exam parts of the basic integration exam abroad: reading skills, speaking skills and knowledge of Dutch society (KNM). After the integration course you are you are fully prepared for the exam. *when the candidate has mastered language level A1. You will also receive the exam questions for the basic integration exam abroad from us.
If you unexpectedly do not pass the exam in one sitting, we offer an exam guarantee* and you will receive another lesson for the relevant exam part for which you did not pass in one sitting, free of charge. The result of the basic integration exam abroad is valid for 1 year.

In the event of theft or loss of your residence permit abroad
Was your residence document stolen or lost during your stay abroad? Then you also go to the police to report the theft/loss. The declaration must be drawn up in Dutch, English, French or German. Isn't this the case? Then the declaration must be translated by translator who has been sworn by a Dutch court.

Visa requirement return visa for the Netherlands
You only need a return visa if you are subject to a visa requirement. This means that you need a visa to travel to the Netherlands due to your nationality. Are you not required to have a visa? And is your residence permit no longer valid? Then travel back to the Netherlands within your free period. You do not need a return visa for this. Sometimes other authorities or organizations (e.g. an airline or customs) still request a return visa.

When can you apply for a return visa?
You can apply for a return visa in one of the following situations:
✓ You have submitted an application for extension or change of your residence permit. Or you have
applied for a permanent residence permit. You are awaiting the decision.
✓ Your residence document has been lost, stolen or damaged. Or there is incorrect information on your account
residence document that prevents you from entering the Netherlands.
✓ Your child was born in the Netherlands. You have a residence permit for your child for the first time
requested. You are awaiting the decision.
✓ You have submitted an application for assessment against EU law or an application for the first time
to live with your Dutch child under the age of 18. This is an application to live with you
family member with the nationality of an EU, EEA or Switzerland country. You are awaiting
the decision.

Cost of procedure
There are costs associated with a return visa application. The fee for a return visa is €164 per application. Turkish nationals and their family members pay €48. You pay these costs at the Dutch embassy or at the IND desk to process the application.
You also pay for the work of Immigration Services the Netherlands. We handle
a fixed amount of €99 excluding VAT per return visa application. We will take care of your application and guide you throughout the entire procedure up to and including your arrival in the Netherlands.
Register return visa application
Before you place an order, it is wise to first check whether this is possible and whether you are in one of the situations described on this page under'when can you apply for a return visa'. As soon as we have received your registration via our website, we will confirm the order by e-mail through a written order confirmation. After creating the file and confirming the assignment, we will immediately start working on your case.
You will receive an email from us with what you need to create a file. We store your data in our system. This information will not be provided to third parties and is only intended for the assignment and processing of the necessary forms and documents.
After receiving the required documents for the return visa application, you will receive the entire application from us within 2 working days. The application can then be submitted to the Dutch embassy or an IND desk.
(!) You must always apply for the return visa application in person at the Dutch embassy or an IND desk. You must identify yourself during the appointment. The Dutch embassy
or the Immigration and Naturalization Service will assess your application immediately at the appointment. If the decision is positive, the return visa will be stuck in your passport. This day is also the commencement date of the return visa.
