The residence permit 'Work as a self-employed person'

is a sticker in your passport. The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) issues this permit.

You may use the permit under conditions such as:entrepreneur work in the Netherlands.

The validity period of aresidence permit

'Work as independent'is a maximum of 2 years,

the permit is renewable after 2 years.

Forresidence permit 'Work as a self-employed person' strict rules apply, because the company is assessed based on a 'points system'. This tests whether the work you will carry out will contribute to the Dutch economy. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) carries out this assessment and provides advice to the IND on this basis. It is therefore important that if you wish to apply for this residence permit, you prepare this application properly.

Conditions for a residence permit for self-employed persons

 

✓        You have a valid passport or other travel document.

✓        YOU is registered in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce (KvK).

✓        YOU meets the requirements for practicing your business or profession. This means you all

            have the necessary permits.

✓        YOU gosufficient income earn from your work as a self-employed entrepreneur. This must be proven

                from the business plan.

✓        TheThe work you will carry out is of essential importance to the Dutch economy.

           The product or services you are going to offer must have an innovative character for the Netherlands.

           The IND requests advice from the IND to assess thisNetherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

           The RVO acts on behalf of the Minister of Economic Affairs.
 

The essential importance is assessed on the basis of a points system. The points system consists of:

3 parts:


1. Personal experience (education, entrepreneurship, work experience).
2. Business plan (market analysis, product/service, price, organization, financing).
3. Added value for the Netherlands (innovativeness, job creation, investments).

A total of 300 points can be achieved for the components. At least 90 points are needed with

a minimum of 30 points per part. If you have theTurkish nationality have or if you have theEU long-term resident status in another EU country, the points system does not apply.

Additional conditions freelancer

✓        You haveone or more assignments in the Netherlands that you will carry out as a freelancer.

Additional conditions for a company in individual healthcare

✓         You are registered in itBIG register (Professions in Individual Healthcare).

           Only with this registration can a healthcare provider with a foreign diploma work in the Netherlands

           entrepreneur.

 

Conditions for residence on the basis of the Dutch-American Friendship Treaty or Dutch-Japanese Trade Treaty

✓        YOU complies with theconditions that apply to everyone.

✓        YOU have American or Japanese nationality.

 

✓        Aof the following situations applies:

1. You trade between the Netherlands and America or Japan; or

2. You develop and manage the business operations of a company in the Netherlands, and you have asignificant capital invested in this company or are in the process of investing significant capital in it. In any case, business operations are understood to mean:

  • You represent an American or Japanese company and hold a key position in that company; or

  • You practice a liberal profession, unless you have a certain public task or a position in the healthcare or public security sector.health care or public security sector.

Different conditions apply to persons with the nationality of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland and their family members.

Kosten procedure

 

Aan een verblijfsvergunning om als zelfstandig ondernemer in Nederland te werken zitten kosten (leges) verbonden. De legeskosten van een verblijfsvergunning zelfstandig ondernemer bedragen € 1446,- per aanvraag. Deze kosten betaalt u aan de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst om de aanvraag in behandeling te nemen.

 

Daarnaast betaalt u ook voor de werkzaamheden van Immigration Services the Netherlands. Wij hanteren een vast bedrag van € 999,- exclusief BTW per aanvraag. Wij verzorgen uw aanvraag en begeleiden u gedurende de hele procedure tot en met uw aankomst in Nederland.

Registration procedure for residence permit self-employed person

As soon as we have received your registration via our website, we will confirm the order by e-mail through a written order confirmation. After creating the file and confirming the assignment, we will start working on your case.

You will receive an email from us with what you need to create a file. We store your data in our system. This information will not be provided to third parties and is only intended for the assignment and processing of the necessary forms and documents.

After receiving the required documents for the application, we aim to submit the application to the Immigration and Naturalization Service within 15 working days. If you do not yet have all the required documents, it is also possible to submit the application to the IND and forward the latest documents.

The legal decision period of the IND is 90 days, this period will be extended by a maximum

6 months because advice is requested from the RVO. The issuance of the MVV (entry) visa at the Dutch embassy or consulate takes 5 to 10 working days. You must enter the Netherlands within 3 months after the IND has made a positive decision. Your residence permit is issued by the IND, you collect your residence permit at an IND counter near you.
